With all the hype surrounding Alpha-H’s Liquid Gold, it was inevitable that I’d have to get my hands on it. When I learned of a stockist in my area, without hesitation, I drove out, wallet in towe, to check out the product and range.
I’d pretty much made up my mind, that I’d be walking out with the Liquid Gold,however I also wanted to sample some of the other products. THere were a couple of packages on offer, so i decided to purchase the Liquid Gold discovery collection (which contained the Balancing Cleanser 30ml, Liquid Gold 50ml, Liquid Gold Rejuvenating Cream 30ml, Liquid Gold Perfecting Daywear 15ml and Liquid Gold Intensive Night Repair Serum 15ml).
I’ve now been using this set for over a month now and while i think some of the products are great, there were some that I wouldn’t repurchase. The two products I wasn’t particularly impressed with, was the Perfecting day cream and the Intensive night repair serum. I feel they did nothing to improve my skin texture, hydration or overall appearance, plus I really didn’t like the heavy fruity scent. The cleanser (which I’ve been using with my clarisonic) and rejuvenating cream, were lovely. They left my skin feeling fresh and clean – so a big thumbs up there!
As for the hero product, the Liquid Gold, I have to say it was only when I stopped using it, that I noticed how effective it truly was/is. I apply the Liquid Gold with a cotton pad and instantly I feel a tingling sensation. It’s a little freaky at first, but apparently it’s supposed to react that way. At no point didn’t break me out or leave me with red patches. While I’m not a fan of how it makes my skin look straight after application, it does actually look really good the following morning. On the nights I use the Liquid Gold I don’t use a moisturiser. I feel super guilty doing not doing this, but apparently the product works more effectively when used on it’s own. I think this is definitely something I will look at repurchasing again, as I really enjoy the texture and look of my skin when used in my skincare regime. I use it 2-3 times a week, on alternating days.
Overall I’m glad I tried the sample pack and the hype surrounding the Liquid Gold, is well deserved. If you’ve had any experience with this brand I’d love to hear your thoughts and/or product recommendations.
