Weekend Edit: Style #11

weekend-edit-11Hello lovelies, It’s the end of another week and it’s also the end of my stay in Brisbane. Dylan and I are finally moving back to Sydney! Woohoo! We leave on Monday and to say it’s been a hectic past month is an understatement. We’re both utterly exhausted but just need to get over the final hurdle; cleaning our apartment and handing over the keys. For anyone who rents in Australia this part is a massive pain in the arse – yeah, I have issues with real estate agents (long story). With everything packed up and already in Sydney I thought I’d squeeze in one last post this week before we head down.

One thing I’m looking forward to most in Sydney is the cooler climate; I’m a winter/autumn girl at heart and can’t wait to dig out my wooly jumpers and coats. I managed to condense my wardrobe down to a quarter of it’s size during our pack-up (yes really) so would love to add a few neutral pieces to my almost non-existent wardrobe. Strangely it’s quite satisfying getting rid of everything and starting a fresh. While it’s unlikely I will add any of these pieces (my mac died this morning and probably can’t be salvaged, grrr) it’s nice to get a little inspired.

I’m not sure what my schedule will be like regarding posts next week (as we will be staying with family) but things will return to some kind of normality soon. Apologies if I haven’t been able to visit your blog and comment like I normally do, but I hope you all understand that it’s just the transition process and nothing more.

For now thanks for your support, have an amazing weekend and take care!

weekend-edit-10After black and white comes stripe. Yep, I’ve basically summed up my wardrobe. Striped pieces are a real wardrobe staple for me and just so happen to be one of my favourite things to wear (just ask my boyfriend). Not only do they add an element of interest but they’re also a classic graphic element making them timeless and super easy to wear no matter what the occasion.

Over the last few weeks I’ve steadily made my way through my wardrobe picking out bits that have seen better days or just don’t fit anymore. Sadly I’ve had to say goodbye to a few stripey friends as well. While I haven’t bought any new pieces I’ve been getting lots of inspiration on how to style my favourite print, which is half the fun really.

How do you like to style your stripes? Let me know in the comments below.

As always have an amazing weekend and I’ll catch you next week.

weekend-edit-9Hello lovelies, It’s my favourite time of the week again and as per usual I’m excited and relieved the weekend is here – who’s with me? Without sounding like a beat up record my week has been pretty hectic mostly with work and packing (the story of my life it seems). I also celebrated my birthday this week but kept it pretty low key. I picked up lots of nice goodies, some of which I will share with you in the coming weeks. Of course I’d love any of the above in case anyone was feeling generous, ha!

What’s everyone up to this weekend? Anyone else a fellow cancerian and celebrating their birthday this month? Let me know in the comments below.

Stay safe and have a blast everyone!

Weekend Edit: Style #8

weekend-edit-8Just a quick post to share a few things that have caught my eye this week. I’ve taken inspiration from Jessie Bush’s very black/minimal outfit (I adore her style). Simple jewels feature as per usual, a gorgeous black crop and of course a bag I’ve been lusting over for what feels like forever – The Pashli Mini.

What is everyone up to this weekend? I still have a tonne of packing to do and I have a few people coming to look at a few furniture pieces I’m selling. If the weather is nice I may even go for a bush walk but we’ll see. I need to take some time out and get a good dose of nature. My zen-o-meter is flailing. Enjoy whatever you end up doing and have an amazing and restful weekend!

Weekend Edit: Style #7

Woohoo, it’s Friday! As per usual my week was pretty hectic, mostly with work and a few after work (but work related) commitments. When Friday finally rolls around, I only have one thing on my mind; a good sleep in. Of course catching up on all my favourite blogs, vlogs and online stores is also something I look forward to. Money has been a real issue lately so I haven’t purchased any goodies which, if I’m honest, is the reason there’s been a bit of a lull in terms of posts,. That hasn’t stopped me from drooling over a whole bunch of goodies as you can see from the pic above.

This weekend I’ll be doing a lot of packing. The move isn’t for a couple of weeks but the boy is away on a work trip, so I’m trying to get a head start as we’ll be moving as soon as he gets back.

What are you up to this weekend? Any exciting plans?

Weekend Edit: Style #6 (the chatty edition)

weekend-edit-6Hello Friday – you made it! Anyone else have a tough week? Unfortunately no amount of makeup is going to camouflage the dark circles under my eyes, but a long weekend sure is going to help, at least in terms of catching up on sleep. Honestly, I feel like I’ve been running from pillar to post lately so I’m going to completely switch off from the things I should be doing and just face plant on my bed, or sofa (heck, anything horizontal and preferably soft).

So what’s been going on I hear you ask. Well I can finally share with you that Dylan and I will be moving back to Sydney – Yipee! Yep no windup, I don’t beat around the bush. It’s a good thing we both like mixing things up, as there’s so much organising to do. I think trying to coordinate everything is what I’m find really daunting, especially now that we’re planning a wedding. Plus we’ve both accumulated a lot of stuff over the 4 1/2 years we’ve lived in Brisbane and to make matters worse we need to find a place to move to and then there’s the issue of work as well. I’m sure things will be fine but I’m already preparing for a pretty thrifty few weeks – so expect to see a lot of wish lists.

Speaking of wishlists I’d love to add all any of the above to my wardrobe. For those of you who don’t live in Australia, it’s been a very slow start to winter. I could literally get away with wearing my summer wardrobe and not feel cold in the slightest. Those Karen Walker sunnies would go down a treat. If only money grew on trees, or if only I had a dollar every time I heard someone say that …

Oh onto other news, Dylan and I finally picked out our wedding bands. Yes we’ve been feeling pretty spendy lately! They’re being custom made, so we’re going to have to wait a while till we get them. That’s about the only planning we’ve really done, now that we’ve decided to move to Sydney.

Anyway enough about me, how are you all feeling? What’s been going on? Made any exciting purchases lately? Please share in the comments below. i love reading and responding to your comments.

I’ll catch you next week lovelies…  bed beckons. Enjoy your weekend!

Exciting news!

wedding-inspirationI’ve been hoarding a bit of a secret, which might explain my erratic posts lately (just in case you noticed). I’m getting married- wohoo *happy dance*.

I thought it was about time I let the cat out of the bag and share the good news with you. Dylan, my best friend and soulmate proposed a few weeks ago and although we haven’t set a date or organised anything, we’ve finally got around to sharing the good news with our dearest and nearest (which is hard when you live interstate, hence the delay in letting you all know).

We’re pushing for a wedding before the end of the year but realistically it will probably happen early next year. We both have so much going on at the moment, which I will share with you at another time. For now everything is still very much in the air… so I will have to keep you posted as things progress.

As you can imagine my pinterest account is getting a bit of a workout so I thought I’d share some of my pins, naturally they’re all wedding related.

I just wanted to say thanks for your patience over the past few weeks, regarding my post uploads – hopefully things will return to normal soon. Till next time lovelies – have a great weekend!
