First Impressions: L’Oreal Paris Anti-Ageing Revitalift Magic Blur Finishing Cream

Loreal-Magic-Blur-1Despite the poor reviews I’m really loving L’Oreal’s Revitalift Magic Blur. I received a free sample sachet and loved it so much I went out an bought a whole tube. Now if you were thinking of running out and buying a tube, I’d say stop and give it a test run first. If I’m honest I do think this product is better suited to a mature skin as it’s primary objective is to smooth out fines lines, enlarged pores and imperfections.Loreal-Magic-Blur-2While I’ve come to grips with the pore situation, Magic Blur masks imperfections (including them nasty pores) by diffusing the light that bounces on my skin. The thick cream creates a beautiful canvas for foundation application (FYI it pairs beautifully with my Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet) and feels so silky soft. It dries matte and while it contains silicones it doesn’t feel slippy on my combination-oily skin. It also prolongs the longevity of my foundation.

One things I will say is to try to avoid using too much product as it becomes counter productive. Trust me when I say a little goes a long way. The cream doesn’t have a discernible scent and while it’s not too dissimilar to my Garnier 5 sec perfect blur (which I reviewed some months ago), I’m going to say I prefer this more.

What are your thoughts on finishing creams? If you’ve tried them have they met your expectations? Let me know in the comments below.

  1. I quite like this product myself too! I agree that it can be a “little much” and the consistency is the thickest thing I’ve ever tried. I love it for the area around my nose, cheeks, and chin. The only downside to this is that after I’ve had this product for a while, it comes out a little bit chunky… The opening on my tube is a bit different than yours and it comes out it much thicker “stream” that easily breaks apart. It’s a lil weird. Other than that, I’m a big fan myself πŸ™‚

    • I agree on all fronts and I’ve also noticed the packaging is quite different too. I find the actual tube itself is pretty solid, at least in Aus it is.. but it’s really not a biggie. Loving this very much. It sort of came from left field πŸ™‚

  2. I’m glad it’s working for you! I think it can be very tough to sift through all of the marketing surrounding anti-aging products to find something that actually works. That said, I have banned anything with the words “preventative” and “anti-aging” from my makeup collection until I am at least 30! No sense in getting started now; my Sephora addiction is already expensive enough haha

    • I’m actually surprised at how good this is! I don’t care so much about the anti-aging claims, as I think it’s a load of marketing bull, I mean aging is inevitable. ‘Preventative’ I don’t mind so much but ‘anti-aging’ seems a little far fetched to me πŸ™‚

  4. I feel like it would be difficult to make the Chanel foundation finish even better! Heheh. πŸ˜› I don’t use anything like this right now but tears ago I did love the Ysl matt touch clear fluid, I think it does more or less the same…
